Most consultations are by appointment to avoid keeping patients waiting. Should you attend without an appointment, we do our best to meet your needs, without delaying other pre-booked patients. Telehealth consultations are available at Vida Medical for existing patients. Medicare rebate on telehealth is available if you have visited the clinic in the last 12 months. Telehealth appointments for first visit/no face-to-face visit in last 12 months are available for sexual health. You can select the telehealth option when making your online booking, or advise reception when you call. Some conditions require a face-to-face visit and your doctor may communicate this during a telehealth consult. Telehealth appointments are not routinely bulk billed — standard billing policy applies.

We understand that circumstances sometimes change. If you are unable to attend your appointment please contact us at least three hours before the appointed time; failure to do so will incur a non-attendance/late-cancellation fee of $35 for a single 15-minute appointment, or $55 for a 30-minute appointment. These amounts are inclusive of GST and are not eligible for Medicare rebate. Our practice monitors non-attendance — a no show means another patient loses an opportunity to be seen.

We believe patients share responsibility for following up on test results. Results will not generally be given over the phone as our reception team are not trained to interpret them. Please book an appointment to discuss results with your doctor. You will be contacted as soon as possible for seriously abnormal or urgent results. Blood results often take 3–5 days; some scans can be provided on the day, while others take longer.

We ask where possible that you obtain your scripts and referrals during your consultation. If you need repeat scripts, please make an appointment so your medical condition and medications can be reviewed. There is a fee for repeat scripts or referrals. Authority prescriptions, sleeping tablets and analgesic prescriptions all require an appointment.

Home visits may be available for regular patients whose health conditions prevent them from attending the clinic, within a reasonable distance. Please contact us for more details. Home visits are provided at the discretion of the doctor.
