About Dr Kheman Rajkomar
Dr Rajkomar graduated from The University of Melbourne (MBBS) before completing surgical training (FRACS) in New Zealand. He then undertook hepatobiliary/upper gastrointestinal surgery training at North Shore (NZ), Nepean (Sydney), Bankstown (Sydney) and Austin (Melbourne) Hospitals, culminating in ANZHPBA certification.
Post-fellowship training in pancreatic, esophagogastric and bariatric surgeries was further undertaken at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in Scotland. He completed formal training in bariatric surgery at the Centre of Obesity Surgery in AZ Sint-Jan Hospital (Bruges, Belgium) with Dr Bruno Dillemans. He is GESA accredited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Rajkomar has settled in Launceston and is keen to look after the community in conjunction with colleagues at Launceston General Hospital. Bariatric services will be offered and advertised in due course once the multidisciplinary team is set up.
